WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
Steel City Fabrics accepts secure payment by PayPal, Credit & Debit Card via Stripe. You can be reassured that payment made via the website is secure as the SSL Secure Shopping icon will be displayed on the checkout screen.
HOW WILL MY FABRIC BE CUT?
Our quilting cotton fabrics are sold per fat quarter. If you want to order just a quarter of a metre but you prefer this to be width of fabric, please add a comment to your order and we are happy to cut the fabric this way for you, otherwise you will be sent a fat quarter. If your order more than 1 unit of fabric, these will be cut as a continuous piece. If you are little confused as to how many units you need to add to your basket, please get in touch and we are more than happy to help you with this. As a guide though, if you wish to order half a metre, add 2 to your basket, 1 and a half metres, just add 6 to your basket, 3 metres, add 12 to your basket etc.

The majority of our quilting cotton fabrics measure as below, but please be advised this is an approximate guide as some quilting cottons are slightly wider than others, so there may be a very slight variation on the width of fabric. The length of fabric that we cut will always be the same. The image below shows how we cut our fabrics.

° 2 Fat Quarters = 50cm (L) x 112cm (W)
° 3 Fat Quarters = 75cm (L) x 112cm (W)
° 4 Fat Quarters = 100cm (L) x 112cm (W)

Our dressmaking fabrics are sold per half metre and are usually wider than quilting cottons (approximately 148cm wide but again this may vary slightly from fabric brand to brand). Again, if you order more than 1 unit, these will be cut as a continuous piece.

MY FABRIC HAS SHRUNK AND/OR THE COLOURS HAVE RUN, CAN I RETURN IT FOR A REFUND?
Returns will not be accepted and refunds will not be given due to fabric shrinkage or colour run as care instructions are displayed on the website for all fabrics sold. A small amount of shrinkage and colour run is to be expected with fabrics so we recommend taking this in to account when making your purchases. We would always recommend pre-washing your fabric prior to cutting using the manufacturers washing recommendations, and using a colour catcher in your washing machine to check for colour run. Steel City Fabrics will not be held responsible for care instructions not being followed.
WHY DOES MY FABRIC LOOKS A LITTLE DIFFERENT TO THE COLOUR THAT IS DISPLAYED?
We use a combination of stock images from the manufacturer/designer and our own photographs. Whilst we try our best to accurately represent the colours of the fabrics, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match. This may also depend on your display settings, so fabrics may look a little different when you receive them.
PRE-ORDER INFORMATION
We do offer customers the chance to pre-order some fabrics prior to us receiving these in stock. These are not available straightaway and we are expecting delivery of them in a number of weeks/months time. This information is always given on each individual fabric listing. The delivery date is for guidance only as they are subject to change due to any number of reasons including, but not limited to, Manufacturing & Production issues, the on-going effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the after effects of Brexit, as deliveries sometimes take longer than expected to arrive in the Country. All of our fabrics come from overseas and there are sometimes delays because of this.
Please order pre-order fabrics separately from any other purchase you wish to make, and from any other pre-order fabric collection, otherwise your order will be "held" until all of these are in stock and ready to be posted, and fabrics will be sent together.
CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
If you wish to cancel your order you must do so within 24 hours of placing the order on our website. All of our orders are usually cut 24-72 hours after we receive them (with the exception of pre-order fabrics). At quieter times orders can be cut within 12-24 hours of receiving your order which means that your order could have been posted before we receive your cancellation. In these circumstances, we would not cancel your order until it has been returned to us, in the condition it was sent, and we would then process your refund within 48 hours .
If you wish to cancel any pre-order you have made, you must do so within 14 days of placing your order. If you contact us after the 14 day period, we are unable to offer a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By checking the box at checkout, you, the customer, agree that you have read each description of the item/items that you are purchasing before placing your order. Steel City Fabrics cannot be held responsible for the customer not reading item descriptions, or the way the customer interprets them, as they are explicitly worded on the website. This especially relates to fat quarter bundles as, in some circumstances, but not all, we do not always have a specific full fabric collection in our bundles, therefore we cannot be held responsible for the customers assumption that there is an item or items missing when, in fact, it was not included in the bundle in the first place. Our written and photographic descriptions will clearly state what is, or is not, included in a bundle, or with any other item sold on our website.
